Glen's Work

In just a few days, Glen will complete his first year serving as CEO of Paraclete. The past four months, he has worked night and day. The organization that shared office space with Paraclete had to move. So, we had to find another solution for office space. That meant the disentangling of many things, from the shared equipment, phone lines, computer back up, furniture, etc... Glen became the IT expert, phone man, chief negotiator for various contracts, he swung a hammer, we cleaned carpets, moved boxes, fixed holes--you get the idea. He wore many hats. The real estate agent told Glen that he had never seen anyone (without a real estate license) who understood a rental contract better! Glen did his homework!

We couldn't believe how much was involved in orchestrating everything. Mid-November, we went to Phoenix for to work on the move. It was hard work, but, praise God it's done! All the new systems that Glen had to put together are in place and working and we are very thankful.

Now, he and his small staff are up to their eyeballs in budget prep. for the next year. It is particularly challenging because of the economic situation and the subsequent drop in giving. However, we continue to be amazed that people give sacrificially and generously. All the board materials have to be ready because the December board meeting is right around the corner. If Glen wasn't aware that he facilitates significant Kingdom work around the world, the hard work, long hours and struggles wouldn't be worth it. For a quick peek at what some of our Paraclete associates are doing, check out the Reports from Around the World article.
