Culver graduated from Palmer High School on May 28, 2009, just four days after his 18th birthday! My parents, my sister, Milei and her husband Scott, and our dear friend Lois Vos all flew in for the occasion. We had a lot of fun together.
It wasn't easy to pick Culver out of the crowd of
hundreds of graduates all in brown caps and gowns until we discovered that we could see his teal skate boarding shoes from where we were sitting! It was a good thing because we knew before his name was announced when we were supposed to cheer, hoot and holler. The best view was on the Jumbotron in this picture.

The best view was on the Jumbotron in this picture.A couple of days after graduation we had a drop-in barbecue to celebrate. I cooked and pulled 70 pounds of pork getting ready! Many people came. The love and support our family and friends gave Culver overwhelmed all of us. It was a significant time.
