The Volkhardt Family

Our Carl, his wife, Jamie and their daughter Yael Grace (three  on 9/10/2021) welcomed William Wyatt Volkhardt on July 9!  He weighed 8lbs 1.5 oz. and was 21 inches long.  He’s busy growing.  In his first two weeks, he gained a pound and grew an inch!

Carl begins another school year as Vice-Principal at Strive Federal Middle school in Denver this month.  We are so proud of our kids and how they love Jesus and one another well. They are amazing parents, and the four of them bring us great joy!  

Culver continues as assistant manager of a very busy Dutch Brothers Coffee stand and hopes
to take a manager position as soon as one comes available.  Navigating the Pandemic has presented many challenges as they work in tight spaces and are continually exposed to the public.  Despite being vaccinated, he has had to quarantine several times.

Even though he lives in Colorado Springs we don’t see him very often.  He’s very busy. Sometimes we text and simply ask for “proof of life!”  He has many friends but spends more time with his girlfriend, the lovely Alisse, than anyone else!  

Glen's mom, Davey Volkhardt (89) lives in an assisted living facility near one of her daughters in Sarasota, FL.  The ALF has been an adventure for her and the whole family in times of COVID. She never got the virus, at least not with symptoms.  She, and all the other residents got vaccinated, but then she tested positive.  Management locks down the whole place when anyone tests positive.

In May of this year when the pandemic seemed to be letting up, we visited Davey for the first time in 15 months.  We were able to take her for her first haircut in a long while.
