We celebrated a milestone today. It was on February 9, 1988 that
Paraclete first opened its doors. Not
many of the original associates from 30 years ago are still with us, but the
come-alongside attitude is alive and well!
Paraclete began as a project of the U.S. Center for World Missions in Pasadena, CA. The idea was to bring in some experienced missionaries to counsel the innovative start-ups that were being born at the Center. After working that way for a while, the original associates began doing the same kind of ministry beyond the Center, and 30 years ago today they became Paraclete Mission Group.
In 2018, Paraclete associates still bring experienced counsel to ministers and mission workers, but they do it around the world and with a multitude of churches and Christian organizations. We haven't finished tallying 2017 yet, but in 2016, 58 Paraclete associates, with an average of 23 years of experience each, worked with 160 organizations and 98 churches in 54 countries!

| The Thrive Cyprus Ministry Team |
This month, three Paraclete associates are ministering together. Linda Swanson,
Sonia Nelson, and Judy Ann Gallego-Leonard are in Cyprus serving missionary
women at a Thrive retreat. Linda is the
retreat speaker. Sonia and Judy Ann are
a part of the counseling staff. Thrive
brings together a ministry team from the U.S. and a group of American women
ministering cross culturally in surrounding countries. We are pleased to partner with Thrive in this
ministry of refreshment and renewal for global servants. It's a good example of coming alongside, and it's a good way to commemorate 30 years of ministry.
Thanks for your part in making possible this and other important ministries!
