Hats

One of my favorites

Hats.  I love to wear them!  Baseball caps, berets, cowboy hats, any style.  My favorite one is forest green felt with a feather sweeping to one side, a red felt bowler runs a close second!   Lately, our ministry with Paraclete has had us playing “musical hats!”

This Spring Glen and I wore the ministry hats of speaker, Bible study leader, mentor, trainer, cross-cultural expert, administrator, personnel specialist, conference coordinator, interviewer, prayer warrior, counselor, evangelist, traveler, host of meals and guest room, accountant, IT problem solver, listener, writer, editor, correspondent, board member, weeper, rejoicer…  You get the idea.  The whirlwind of ministry has taken us to multiple states and next month to several countries.  As we moved through busy days, several themes repeated. 

One, the people that God has brought to Paraclete are an amazing, significant bunch, doing great and unusual things for the Kingdom of God.  What privilege to serve them as well as serve alongside them!  

Two, God is doing deep work in people’s lives and we are so thankful to have a part in that.  

Three, though often the ministry hat He asks us to wear is not glamorous, fun or easy but ITS ALWAYS GOOD when it’s a part of His purpose in the world!  

Four, Satan works to stop or thwart the Spirit’s movements.  We cannot minister without the strong prayer and financial support of our friends!  

Five, every challenge has a blessing with it!
