Chile Ministry Report

She leaned over and said, "I'm 55 years old. I was adopted when I was 3 months old. All my life I have carried that rejection. It has impacted my marriage, my children and all my relationships. But TODAY, I've been freed!" This veteran missionary's testimony is one of many from the Women of the Harvest conferences in Chile. They were North Americans serving in 10 countries in South America. We had 70 ladies the first session and 50 for the second session. Our goal was to refresh, encourage and pamper these faithful missionaries.

I spoke 3 times for each retreat, counseled, prayed with and encouraged many one on one. The missionaries wept as we worshipped in English-many of them hadn't had that privilege since leaving the United States. Our team of hair stylists cut and styled hair and waxed eyebrows, we washed feet, polished toe nails, did make-up and color analysis. A massage therapist spent many hours ministering to weary bodies. Each attendee was prayed over multiple times, many received counseling and I taught the Word. Everyone went away refreshed and encouraged and physically beautiful. Over and over they said that it meant so much to have someone who has walked in their shoes and lived their lives speak encouragement from the Word. Many indicated that they had done serious business with God. Some said that they had been unsure how long they could keep going, but that God had recharged their ministry batteries!

Friends of mine have a Bible study in Santiago and while our Women of the Harvest team de-briefed, I spoke at a one-day retreat for that International Bible Study. The women are wives of business men from all over the world. My friend Melinda says that in the 12 years that the Bible study has been going, she has trained 58 small group leaders, most of whom have moved on to other cities around the world. Instead of grieving their loss, she is realizing that she is training missionaries too! Although I had been very sick most of the night before the retreat, God gave great grace and through my weakness, the ladies were deeply challenged to obey God in new ways! And many responded!

Thank you for praying! God answered!
