Our Summer

Our summer flew by.  We were in Oregon to attend the board meetings of Bridge Builder's Int'l in June as well as visit with some friends and supporters.  We also had a significant family time.  My sister and her husband, Milei and Scott Yardley joined us, and we had three wonderful days with my folks.  One highlight was spending some extended time in prayer together.  We also sat Daddy and Mother down in front of a camera and videoed them telling stories of their past.  Glen and I, Scott and Milei sat out of camera range and asked questions.  It was a rich time of walking down memory lane!

During June and July, Andrew Hays stayed in our guest room. He's the son of dear friends from our Miami days, Nathan and Margie Hays.  He and Culver played together when they were little boys.  Andrew had an internship at the Air Force Academy as a part of his master's degree studies through Baylor University.  It was fun for the boys, all grown-up, to renew their friendship.  We enjoyed lots of laughter. A misstep on an uneven sidewalk, sent me "down for the count" and I came out of it with a couple of cracked ribs.  I've never been so grateful to be able to roll over in bed without pain!

We also hosted a couple who came to candidate to join Paraclete.  We accepted them!

The end of July, we took our now seven year-old grandson, Conor, and his 16 year-old cousin on a camping, fishing trip.  We had a blast!  Although the campsite was pretty primitive, we enjoyed hiking around a lake, fishing and multiple campfires!

The Fall ministry schedule started early with a weekend of Kitchen Table Counseling Training in Fort Collins, Colorado at a large E-Free Church.  Glen drove me and was able to combine the trip with a Paraclete meeting.
