¡Guatemala!

I have been invited to speak at the Women of the Harvest missionary retreat in Guatemala this May. Women of the Harvest (WOTH) is a Denver-based Christian organization that works with missionary women around the world. One of their primary ministries is that of women's retreats for missionary women. This May (2013) WOTH is organizing a retreat for missionary women in Latin America, and they have asked me to speak to the group. Since mission attendees do not have to pay for the retreat, all of the ministering women are asked to raise funds to cover their own expenses, plus a contribution toward the expenses of the missionary attendees. The cost for me to participate in the conference and contribute to the scholarships is $2,900, $2,450 of which will go to WOTH.

I will be able connect with the missionary ladies from my childhood experience of growing up as a "missionary kid" in Taiwan, and from my 20 years as a missionary in Quito, Ecuador. I will be right at home as a Spanish speaker in Guatemala, where the ladies will gather.
