Chihuahua Report

Between March 1 and March 11, I had the privilege of speaking at two retreats, leading small group discussions, debriefing women on their quiet times with God and teaching a Bible study in Chihuahua Mexico! God did many miracles, touching women’s hearts.
At the first retreat for missionaries we were 62 attendees, a mix of Latinas, tribal women and North Americans, and 14 volunteers who had raised support to come cook pray, pamper, council, sing and love on the missionaries!

Between retreats I spoke at a women’s Bible study and met with missionaries and pastors’ wives. Approximately 100 ladies came to the retreat sponsored by El Cordero (The Lamb) Church. The church women worked hard to make it special. Many said that they were moved by the teaching. One woman told my hostess that she wished it was still going four days after the conference!

One woman who attended the missionary conference four years ago, stood up in front of the whole group and shared that her time with me was a turning point in her ministry. This time she went around to others who were struggling and insisted that they get an appointment with me! I was thrilled to see how the Lord had met others I’d counseled for years ago!

These pictures show not only the laughter we had playing a game, but the ethnic diversity of our group.

One of my favorite pictures is of my new friend Grizelda (in purple) and the women around her enjoying the fun.

It was such a treat to reconnect with women I’d met four years ago. This lovely lady grew up in Mexico as a missionary kid, married a Mexican, and now they serve with Ethnos 360—formerly New Tribes Mission. She did simultaneous translation for the first two messages.

The volunteers cooked, sang, painted nails, did make up and counseled. They prayed over every woman they touched. Tears were shed, and sweet stories were told over pretty painted toes.

Here are the precious women in my small group! I had the privilege of leading one of two groups for Spanish-only speakers. There were plenty of laughs, tears and tender sharing.

It was a joy and privilege to again experience God’s gift of language to teach the sweetness of the principles of Grace Strengthened Hearts (Hebrews 13:9) in Spanish! Deep thanks to all those who gave and prayed to make it possible!
